Pretty Good Privacy (PGP)

PGP is used for signing, encrypting, and decrypting texts, e-mails, files, directories, and whole disk partitions and to increase the security of e-mail communications.

PGP in Microsoft Outlook

  • Download gpg4win
  • Install Gpg4win. Select GnuPG, Kleopatra, GpgEX and GpgOL (Microsoft Outlook extension)

Generate a key pair using Kleopatra

  • Click on New Key Pair
  • Add a passphrase

Restart Microsoft Outlook. The GpgOL extension will appear in the Ribbon.
