Overcome your impostor syndrome

Impostor syndrome is a psychological occurrence in which an individual doubts their skills, talents, or accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a fraud. It is very common in the Cybersecurity field.

Reframe your thoughts

You cannot control what happens to you but can control how you react to it.

Take action

Use the OODA loop (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) – a four-step approach to decision-making. Do not get stuck in the Decide and Act steps. Decide to get better at something, and ACT on it. Take a step right now.

Acknowledge your contribution

You have done something awesome in this field or in your career, or studies.

I am where I am because of all of what I did.

Keep pushing boundaries

Keep learning and pushing boundaries. For example, if you do not find flags at your first CTF competition, keep going at CTF events and learn from your mistakes. Do not stop going at CTF competitions; continue learning to improve next time.
